Why UBN?
What to expect
UBN Online is a wonderful virtual online meeting space when in person meetings are not possible during the pandemic. This online platform is a great and effective way to build relationships and stay connected to your UBN family from anywhere in the world. All it takes is few mouse clicks and an internet connection.
Meetings are 60-90 minutes depending on the size of the group. Groups typically meet once per week or bi-weekly. The frequency of meetings for individual groups is determined in the chartering process.
What’s Next?
- With chapters starting throughout the Bay Area, your first step is to find a local chapter and attend your FIRST meeting. You will then receive email correspondence from local Urban Business Network Leaders about the next virtual online meeting.
- Once you attend your first meeting, you will have an opportunity to network and share your business model with like-minded business professionals. We believe if you help enough people get what they want, eventually you will get what you want. That is the power of reciprocity and cooperative economics.
- At the close of the meeting you will be invited to apply for UBN Membership. The process is transparent and simple. If you have any questions regarding UBN membership, philosophy, or core values, this will be the time to do so.
- The application process includes an interview with the Membership Committee and a reference check. This allows our members to know that the new members of their network are in good standing in their profession. Members are also encouraged to have One-to-Ones with new members so they can get to know each other and better identify the strengths and weaknesses of their businesses, ensuring the best referrals possible.
Limitations on Liability:
Regardless of the form of action, for any cause whatsoever related to or arising out of a member’s participation in the Urban Business Network or UBN, or otherwise, in no event shall the Urban Business Network, its officers or employees be liable to you for any loss, damage, claim, or expense greater than the amount of the yearly membership fee paid by you for the membership in the Urban Business Network. Unless otherwise prohibited by applicable law, in no event shall there be any liability to you or any third person for any consequential, indirect, special, special, incidental or punitive damages, regardless of the form of action, even if advised of the possibility of such damages and even if the damages were foreseeable.
I hereby declare and certify that all statements contained are true and correct. I understand that my membership in the Urban Business Network is conditioned upon me abiding by the terms and conditions set forth herein and those contained within the Urban Business Network Membership Guidelines. I hereby acknowledge that upon my acceptance to the Urban Business Network fees are non-refundable, and membership is non-transferable.
